Synopsis of program content:
- Understanding and familiarisation of basic circuit types
- Recognition and Understanding of basic circuits and basic circuit testing
- Correct selection and use of diagnostic equipment

- Electrical component function, operation and testing
- Cable and connector selection and connection
- Troubleshooting procedures and techniques (machine availability required for practical sessions)
- Battery care, types, selection and accurate diagnosis
- Starting and charging systems principles of operation and corrective diagnosis
- Sensors types, recognition, function and correct diagnosis
- Correct interpretation of error codes and electronic circuit based diagnostics
- Vehicle networks (CAN) principles and diagnostics
Note: For advanced/experienced electrical system diagnosticians (who have a proven understanding through the electrical systems training) a higher level programme can be offered.
Note: Depending on the skill set, experience of attendees and the desired outcomes, the modules including error code based diagnostics and vehicle networks can be either omitted or included at introduction/overview level.
